This season, Red lips are either super-matte or really glossy – there is no in-between.

A stronger, bold, full-on color red speaks power. Fire up your look with red lipstick that has a matte scarlet pout. Markup artist, Peter Philips used Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in color “Enthusiasm” on all the models for Ralph Lauren.

Glossy brick red lipstick, as seen at Gucci and Hermes, shined on the runways this season with a very 70’s flair. The lacquered lips require a good amount of attention.

Pop art lips were the punctuation mark at Diane Von Furstenberg’s fall show. The playful shade was inspired by Warhol’s infamous lipstick prints and is quite a forgiving trend to wear since it’s a blue-based red that can contrast against winter skin.

Red velvet lipstick is hot for fall. The softness and rich texture gives the lips a truly lush look. This trend was seen at Giles and Altuzarra fall runway show.

The 90’s-inspired brown-based red lipsticks had spotlight at the DSquared runway show this season. The reds are not too muddy, which makes it flattering on most skin tones.
