Emmys, the biggest television awards recognising excellence in American primetime television programming was held at Microsoft Theater on September 18, 2016, in Los Angeles, California. With all the predictions about the top shows at the awards, the 68th Annual Emmy Awards also saw the best of glitter and glam on the red carpet.
From golden gowns, florals and laces to mermaid cuts and some of the other fashion flops that happened at the Red Carpet, we today bring you the top 5 and worst 5 looks from the prestigious awards.
To Begin with the Top 5 in Our List:
1. Kristen Bell
The first best dressed undoubtedly goes to Kristen Bell for a fairy like dreamy gown by Zuhair Murad. With a plunging neckline, the floral printed gown by the designer sealed the deal with Harry Winston jewels. We mean, who would be able to take their eyes off such a romantic and a beautiful piece?
2. Laverne Cox
The 32-year-old stole the show in a mermaid cut see through golden gown with sequined details and sexy eye-popping neckline. The Naeem Khan gown was beautifully complimented with Hearts on Fire jewellery.
3. Julie Bowen
The hit comedy series Modern Family star Julie Bowen made an elegant and a careful choice with this beautiful chic dress by Lela Rose. The sophisticated look was gracefully coordinated with Vhernier jewellery and Jimmy Choo shoes.
4. Sophie Turner
The Game of Thrones actress looked lovely in Valentino gown, with Christian Louboutin shoes and Forevermark jewellery. With just the right elegance and sensual appeal, the gown with the tulle detailing was spectacularly paired with a minimal jewellery.
5. Tatiana Maslany
The popular actress from BBC series “Orphan Black” looked lovely in a red Alexander Wang gown, with sophisticated panels. The gown was paired with Sophia Webster shoes and Forevermark diamond drop earrings and a Lee Savage clutch.
Coming to the Worst 5:
1. Anna Chlumsky
Our first pick under the worst category without a second doubt goes to Anna for her nightmarish dress with an unflattering fit and mini dress hemline and a cape at the back. This confusing outfit is certainly a no-no across all the levels.
2. Amy Poehler
The gown inspired by the colour of pea soup did no favour to the actress /comedian. With all over embellished detailing and gaudy golden clutch, the look is too much glitter to handle.
3. Emily Robinson
Emily Robinson’s dress looks like it has taken inspiration from layered wedding cake with under quality fabric and unsettling style.
4. Ariel Winter
Ariel Winter’s thigh slit embellished gown gives the feel of a figure skating costume and looks almost uncomfortable and uneasy on the Modern Family star.
5. Gwendoline Christie
A poor choice of cocktail dress for the renowned event the dress comes with a cheap pleated frill on the hem and an even poor back design for a seated event.
