E3 has already passed and has featured a few more video games that are scheduled for release on the next few months. Some games are highly anticipated, while some, just mildly passing the mark.

To keep you hyped on the games that have kept the E3 crowd on their feet, here is our list of the 10 most anticipated PS4 games for the third and fourth quarter of 2017.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (Sony Interactive Entertainment) – August 22

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is an upcoming third-person action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is a standalone expansion to the Uncharted video game series. The game involves the use of firearms or melee weapons to fight against hostile enemies, as well as stealth to keep yourself hidden from them. The main protagonist for this game is Chloe Frazer, who is a skillful treasure hunter capable of doing various physical and acrobatic actions. In this game, the player will be traveling across several locations to be able to advance through the story.

For the game’s story, this is set six to twelve months after Uncharted 4, and places the emphasis on the backstory and heritage of Chloe. Here, she will be exploring the Western Ghats during a civil war in search for the Tusk of Ganesh from a warlord. A character from the previous entry, Nadine Ross, an antagonist from Uncharted, makes a comeback on this game to serve as Chloe’s partner.

Destiny 2 (Activision) – September 6

Destiny 2 is an upcoming online first-person shooter game set to be released on September 6 for consoles and October 24 for PC’s. This game is a sequel to Destiny, released in 2014, and is being developed by Bungie with the assistance of Vicarous Visions and High Moon Studios, and will be published by Activision.

The game takes place a year after the events of Destiny: Rise of Iron, wherein a military empire of giant amphibians called the Red Legion, led by their General, Dominus Ghaul, stages an attack on The Last City. Out of this attack, they were able to take away the powers of the Guardians and force them to leave the Tower. Powerless, the Guardians will need to gain new powers to defeat General Ghaul and the Red Legion, and also travel to other worlds in the Destiny universe.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) – October 10

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an upcoming third-person action RPG developed by Monolith Productions and will be published by Warner Bros., Interactive Entertainment. It is a follow-up entry to the 2014 game, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which is based on the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien and is said to take place after the events of The Hobbit and before The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. This game is set to be released on October 10, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.

The player will once again be controlling Talion, the captain of Gondor, who has forged a new Ring of Power that is believed to be controllable to prevent the wearer from becoming a Dark Lord. Using this Ring, along with the advice given by the Elf Lord Celebrimbor, Talion provides help by facing Sauron and his forces. The Evil Within 2 (Bethesda Softworks) – October 13

The Evil Within 2 is an upcoming psychological survival horror game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. This serves as a sequel to the highly praised 2014 game The Evil Within, which was directed by Shinji Mikami, who is famous for directing the first four Resident Evil games. Though Mikami is still involved in the sequel, he will not be returning as its director but only as its executive producer. The game is scheduled to be released on October 17, 2017 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.

Set three years after the first game, the player will still take control of Sebastian Castellanos, a police detective on his journey to Union City. There, he will try to look for his daughter, Lily, whom he believed has died in a tragic house fire that occurred years before the first game. Much like its predecessor, this game involves the use of various powerful firearms that you can use to defend yourself from monsters.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins (Ubisoft) – October 27

Origins, the 10th installment in the Assassin’s Creed video game series, is an upcoming game by Ubisoft and is scheduled for release in October 27, 2017 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and the Windows PC. Game-wise, it is the successor to Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, which was released in 2015, but story-wise, it serves as a prequel to the entire series, placing the focus on the origins of the Assassins and the Templars, and the struggle between the two.

Like previous installments in the series, Origins is a third-person action-adventure game that involves a lot of stealth mechanics. But, changes are also made in the gameplay, wherein to be able to progress through the story. You will need to complete linear quests with predefined objectives. Outside the linear scenarios, you are allowed to roam the open world freely by foot, on a horse, or on a boat.

The story of this game is set in Ptolemaic Egypt, and the player will take control of Bayek, the last of the Medjay, who organized the Secret Order of Assassins to protect the people of Egypt from the Knights Templar.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus (Bethesda Softworks) – October 27

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is an upcoming action-adventure FPS video game developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the seventh installment in the rebooted Wolfenstein series which started with 2001’s Return to Castle Wolfenstein; but overall, this game counts as the eleventh entry to the entire Wolfenstein videogame series, with the first one, Castle Wolfenstein, released in 1981.

As with all the previous installments in this series, this one lets the player take control of William “B.J.” Blazkowicz in his fight against the Nazi army. This game is set in 1961 in a Nazi-occupied America, with B.J., once again, leading a Resistance in driving the Nazi out from his country. But, he needs to pick himself back up after barely surviving from his battle with General Wilhelm “Deathshead” Strasse at the end of the previous game. Call of Duty: WWII (Activision) – November 3

Call of Duty: WWII is the upcoming entry by Activision to their Call of Duty series. It is a first-person shooter developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision, and is set to be released worldwide in November 3, 2017 for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One. Overall, this game is the fourteenth entry in the series but is the first one to be set during World War II since their 2008 installment, Call of Duty: World at War.

Call of Duty: WWII includes a single player campaign and a multiplayer mode. In the previous three Call of Duty games, there were character upgrades that included the ability to run on walls and achieve double jumps. But on this one, they got rid of those features to get back on the basic, more traditional combat system. Other mechanics were also changed for a more grounded and realistic feel. This includes the “hit-the-deck” mechanic in exchange for the “slide” movement, and the return of the use of heath packs instead of the health regeneration mechanic.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Electronic Arts) – November 17

Star Wars Battlefront II is an upcoming futuristic action shooter game by Electronic Arts, and is based on the Star Wars franchise. This game is set to be released in November 17, 2017, and is the fourth main installment of the Battlefront series, not counting the other three titles that were released on handheld devices. While the previous entry placed more emphasis on multiplayer gameplay rather than on single player—the reason why it received mixed reactions due to the lack of content—this one contains a story mode single player campaign.

The story mode campaign features Iden Versio as the main protagonist, who participates in the events leading up to The Force Awakens. This game also features some characters, locations, and other content based on all films, including the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, the most recent Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and even the upcoming Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

Gran Turismo Sport (Sony Interactive Entertainment) – October 17

Gran Turismo Sport, often shortened to GT Sport, is an upcoming racing simulation video game developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. This game is the thirteenth installment of the entire Gran Turismo video game series, and the first one to be released on the PlayStation 4. This has been scheduled for release in October 17, 2017 in North America, October 18, 2017 in Europe, and October 19, 2017 in Japan.

This game will feature three gameplay modes, namely: Campaign Mode, Sports Mode, and Arcade Mode. Players will also get to choose whether they want to race offline or online. Unlike the last two installments which featured day and night cycle and a dynamic weather, this one simple lets you modify the time of day of the race. This game will have a total of 177 cars to choose from, and 19 tracks to race on.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm (Square Enix) – August 31

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm is an upcoming adventure game developed by Deck Nine and published by Square Enix. This will game will be divided into episodes, which will also be released separately with the first episode scheduled to be released in August 31, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This game story serves as a prequel to Life Is Strange, and will feature Chloe Price, a character from the previous game, during her younger years.

This game is set three years before the events in the first game, with Chloe, still sixteen years old, being the main protagonist. Similar to the previous game, this is a third person graphic adventure game which is story-driven, and gives the player a choice on how to respond during interactions, paving the way through multiple possible outcomes.
