So, you are a big time gamer, are you? Congratulations if you have the extra space in your house for a dedicated masculine game room. You will now have your own private space, in which you can enjoy your favourite games in solitude or with friends. Men have different design aspirations than women; so go all out with your macho aesthetics. The layout of your game room will depend on the game, you choose to install, which may even influence the interior design.
You may avoid bright colours and frilly curtains. If your room is tabula rasa, think wood. Install polished wood panelling to the lower half of your walls, and give the upper walls a complementary colour. Use tiles for the flooring. Conversely, you may give your walls a stony appearance and install wooden flooring. A wide horizontal mirror on one wall may not have a very practical reason to be there, it will definitely enhance the room’s look.
Your specific games equipment apart, think about what furniture you may need in the room. A leather-upholstered sofa set with a centre table, set on a rug may be what the doctor ordered. However, if you do not have enough space try window seating on a wooden bench with a mattress and cushions. You may also need a side table with a flower vase or a lamp. A couple of picture frames on the walls also called for.

Use concealed and subdued lighting. You game spots may have a separate light focus. You may also install a television on one wall so you never miss out on your favourite sports. You may install a full-fledged bar or a mini bar with a dark wood finish. You can choose to store the drinks in a cabinet or on shelves behind the bar. You may also need some storage for your games accessories.
