Top 10 bikes showcased at Auto Expo 2023

2016 is probably going to be the year that would keep bike enthusiasts in India confused. Several manufacturers are coming up with new products for the Indian market and all the roads are leading to the Auto Expo 2016 in the national capital, New Delhi. Here are the top 10 two-wheelers that are expected to make an impression at the event this year.

1. The G 310R from BMW

Among the most awaited bikes of this year is the BMW G 310R which had been developed by BMW Motorrad. It’s collaboration between the two-wheeler arm of the German manufacturer and Indian manufacturer, TVS. Though the design and engineering for this vehicle comes from Germany, it will be manufactured in Hosur, Bangalore, in the TVS facility.

This would be a naked street bike that integrates a liquid cooled, single cylinder, 313cc fuel injected engine that would produce a 28Nm torque and 33.6 Bhp. You can speed the vehicle to 145 kmph with a fuel efficiency of 30-35 kmpl.

The bike is expected to be priced around INR 2 lakh and launched in the middle of 2016.

2. UM Renegade Sport

UM Motorcycles would be decorating the event with two of its Renegade vehicles that have been named as Sport S and Commando. UM has collaborated with Lohia motors to manufacture the vehicles at Uttarakhand and this facility would also be serving as the manufacturing hub for exporting to markets in South Asia, South-East Asia and Europe.

Both beasts integrate 300cc, fuel injected, liquid cooled and single cylinder engine that would deliver around 23 Nm of torque and a Bhp of 26. The bikes are to be priced between INR 1.2 lakh and INR 2 lakh.

3. DSK Benelli TRK 502

Benelli eyes a more unique market with its adventure tourer, the TRK 502. The bike consequently will integrate several features including LED headlights, high ground clearance, adjustable front fork, standard ABS, rear Monoshock and a 20 liter fuel tank – all to support wild expeditions. The vehicle is expected to be priced around INR 5.5 lakh.

4. DSK Benelli Leoncino

Another contribution from DSK, the Benelli Leoncino would be a scrambler looking 47 Bhp beast. The vehicle confirms to the lightweight deign it had been adhering to since 1950s and is expected to be quite competitive in the Indian market. The price is estimated to be around the INR 5 lakh mark.

5. DSK Benelli Tornado 302

The third vehicle from DSK to be showcased at Auto Expo 2016 would be the first fully faired bike from the Italian manufacturer to be launched in India. The machine integrates the same liquid cooled engine as TNT 300 that provides a peak torque at 9,000 rpm and 35.5 Bhp. The vehicle would be priced around INR 3.25 lakh.

6. Triumph Street Twin

The Street Twin is one of the vehicles that Triumph launched in the Bonneville series in late 2015. Design to be affordable, the Indian version would have a 900cc parallel twin unit that is supported by liquid cooling. This would be a highly powered vehicle putting the price range between INR 6.5 lakh and INR 7 lakh.

7. Hero HX 250R

The most awaited Indian bike to be unveiled at the Auto Expo, the HX 250R from Hero would integrate a six speed gearbox and would be the perfect competition for the Honda CBR 250R. The price is expected to be around INR 1.75 lakh.

8. Honda NXR 160

Learning from the failure of the underpowered engine of Hero Impulse, Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India have come up with the NXR 160. The vehicle looks similar to the Impulse, but proves a better experience and efficiency both on and off road. You would be able to get it for around INR 73,000.

9. Yamaha MT-03

A naked variant of the YZF-R3, the MT-03 looks like a bull – chiseled and muscular. The vehicle promises both fun and comfort at a price of around INR 3 lakh.

10. Indian Scout Sixty

The most excited announcement in the Auto Expo 2016 would however be made with the Indian Scout Sixty. A regal product line, Indian Scout will be expanding its horizons with this 999.6 cc engine. The bike is expected to be priced around INR 11 lakh.
